For Veterans Day, during the year of 2021, I had the honor of taking Samuel Deloach, a veteran of the War in Afghanistan, with me to visit the ”Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” during the 100 year anniversary of the burial of an unknown World War I veteran within the Arlington National Cemetary.
The “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” has been under permanent military guard since March 25th, 1926 and it was truly an honor to be able to see the tomb in person earlier today.
My great uncle, William Henry Russell is buried at the Arlington National Cemetary alongside with thousands of other American heroes and former United States Presidents.
We are blessed to live in America, and you should thank a veteran for their service. Thanks should not just be given on Veterans Day but every day of the year.
Just as we need our reserve military personnel, our active duty military personnel and our veterans, the members of our military past and present also need us.
